Brandon + Eliana: Wedding Under the Stars

What a fantastic way to start off my fall wedding season! Eliana and Brandon were such an incredible couple – they were gorgeous, easy going, and had the two cutest (and well-behaved) children I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Getting Ready

The bridal party got ready at Stardance and what a fantastic location for it! I love the rustic vibe and big barn doors which I took full advantage of for the detail shots. I loved how Eliana and Brandon gave cookies by Q Confections as their favors (celebrating the location where they had met) and the baby’s breath on the tables was simple, elegant and perfect along with the burlap, jam jars, and empty wine bottles filled with lights. I loved the sparkling pink tablecloths and other glittery elements they incorporated into the decor as well. I was able to get a ton if detail shots before heading over to the Most Holy Trinity Church where their ceremony was held, presided over by Father Tom.

Veiled Vow Exchange

One of the best uses for those great barn doors was that it provided a lovely and natural wall between Eliana and Brandon, who, instead of doing a first look, chose to exchange vows without seeing each other. They also shared a quiet prayer before parting ways with a touch of the hand and a pinkie promise. Even though many couples choose to do a first look, there are times when they want to be more traditional. When that is the case, I love coming up with creative locations where the couple can share a special moment without seeing each other.

Catholic Ceremony

The Catholic ceremony had all the elements of devotion and family and friends gathered around to pray for the couple as they said “I Do”. Because we wanted to catch the last of the sunlight back at Stardance before the reception began, the couple went straight there after the ceremony.

Mountains and Green Grass

The backdrop at Stardance, with the mountain views lit by the setting sun and the lush green grass, was perfect for bridal party and family photos. And once the sun set and it was full dark, the stars came out and I was able to get some spectacular night photos of Eliana and Brandon both out on the grounds and against the building. I love working creatively with couples to do night photos. I think they are a great addition to the more classic images of the bride and groom.
Thank you Eliana and Brandon for trusting me to capture your wedding. I loved all the special touches you brought to your day. Your wedding was truly classically beautiful and romantic!
