A Variation on a Theme {all that glitters}

There are about a billion resources out in the interwebs to help you, guide you, inspire you to create your . perfect . wedding . – one that says YOU. You, with all your style and personality, laced with love and laughter and happily ever after. Planning tools and websites and vlogs and pins and instagrams, oh my. So how do you narrow down all the chatter, all the overload, into one cohesive color schemed plan? It helps to start with a central element – one non-negotiable thing that is the most important to you – and from there, the rest really will follow. Whether it’s a color you love, a dress you’ve been dreaming about since you were a child, a location that speaks to you, or even a wine or a craft beer that you love to drink – all are ways to really focus so that everything comes together to blend and merge and meld into the theme that tells your love story. Building from your choices, the details become easier; the invitations, the table decor, the favors, and on and on, all falling seamlessly into line. And then, you can be inspired by it again and again when you find a photographer who can turn your perfect vision into lasting memories : )

Adriana and Edgar may not have named the style they chose for their wedding, but it was definitely a variation on a theme that I call glitter and gold, with a touch of Hollywood glam. Soft pinks, off whites, and sparkles. Their details impressed me so much that I wanted to share them in a style board! I didn’t have an opportunity to see their wedding invitations, but I was able to find a simple yet elegant version on Paperless Post called Josephine Baker (in Gold) that worked with all their elements and used that as an example. Other credits in this style board include:

Getting Ready: JW Marriott Starr Pass
Venue: The Stillwell House
Dress: Badgley Mischka from Maya Palace
Custom Tux: Minas Zistatsis at Brother’s Tailors & Clothing Company
Rings: Designed by Debra Almanza
Cake: Jamie-Cakes Bakery Boutique
Florist: Annalisa Moreno
Makeup and Hair: Makeup by Christopher Valenzuela, Hair by Maria Valenzuela

Whatever variation on whatever theme you choose, the most important thing is that you don’t let the details bog you down and keep you from enjoying this process. This is your only wedding, so even if the details don’t match, it’s still, lovingly, lastingly, yours.
