Bachelorette Parties and Disney?

I’m always on the lookout for fun tips and articles to share with brides! Recently I came across this amusing read that I thought I would share if you’re thinking about planning a Walt Disney World Bachelorette Party.

I’ve spent many hours, nay, years of my life, planning the most efficient and effective way to be a foodie, a vacation drinker, and hit all the must-see highlights (covering both nostalgia and oh-hell-yes-that’s-amazing) at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This article is for you east coasters http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/how-to-have-a-totally-normal-person-bachelorette-party-at-disney-world, or those of you willing to travel east for your party.

If you want some personal advice on how to do the same on the west coast, I’ve included some tips below as well.

My Two Cents: Two Days in Disneyland (DL) and Disney California Adventure (DCA) for a group party of nostalgic thrill seekers, foodies, and alcohol-consumers…Bachelorette Party, or girl vacay, or couples getaway weekend…read on…

Suggested Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Itinerary (can be done in one day and then you can spend the second day at the beach!)

Where to Eat and Drink – my favorite must-stops are:
– Carthay Circle Restaurant in DCA (at least twice, once for a drink, and once for lunch or dinner). The food here is delightful. Share a bottle of wine on their terrace (ask them if you can sit out there, they often don’t seat there when it’s not busy). Try the Ceviche, it’s delicious, don’t believe me? Ask the fishes. Ahem.
– The Napa Rose, part of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, is a great place for dinner, as well as a drink. Try their summer tomato salad. Amazing. Accessible through DCA.
– The outdoor kiosks in DCA: Wine Country Trattoria and Alfresco Tasting Terrace, hidden gems of fine wine tasting along the back side of Grizzly Peak and accessible via the main street and Bugs Land.
– on Paradise Pier in DCA, near the ferris wheel, there’s a little stand that sells delicious wine and craft beer. Normally I don’t wander over to this side, but it’s nice for a meander with a glass of wine.
– Favorite Quick Eats: Bengal Barbecue (tasty meat on a stick), French Market Restaurant, and Cafe Orleans (clam chowder in a bread bowl) at DL, and Flos V8 Cafe in Cars Land DCA (just-like-Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner sandwich. Ask for it with the mashed potatoes instead of the normal side. And extra gravy. Good for soaking up the additional alcohol : ) if you need it).

Where to Stay
: High end accommodations can be found at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, but nearby are lots of other reasonably priced options.

What to Do, Day One:
1) buy the hopper.
2) go to Disney’s California Adventure (DCA) and fast pass Soarin’ over California (currently closed now for reno). If it’s not too early, grab a drink at Carthay Circle Restaurant. But don’t worry, you’ll be back!
3) go to Disneyland (DL) and FASTPASS Space Mountain, or (as I do) just head left for New Orleans Square, Adventureland, Frontierland and hit the following for nostalgia: Indiana Jones Adventure, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (ps sometimes you don’t need to FASTPASS, and truly any of these have interesting enough queues that it’s not necessary even if the wait is long)…
4) time for lunch –  head back to DCA and FASTPASS Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land (it should be an evening return, and this is good because this attraction is much better at night) then head to Carthay Circle Restaurant and eat, drink, be merry.
5) grab another drink and meander back to DL for whatever you didn’t get to : ) The train ride can be a leisurely way to get from one place to another with that lunch heavy in your tummy.  Hang out until it’s time for dinner.
6) Head back to DCA, check out Tower of Terror, use your Cars Land FASTPASS, then head for dinner at Napa Rose. If there’s music bumping in Hollywood Land at DCA, the Mad T Party is back in May, so you can get your dance and sing on there until the park closes.

What to Do, Day Two
: If you’re up for a second round, do this at a much more leisurely pace, get to whatever you didn’t get to or do some of it again!
two of my more leisurely items include:
1) Aladdin (a live show in Hollywood Land at DCA) is kind of fun if you like that kind of thing.
2) the Toy Story Midway Mania (at Paradise Pier in DCA) can be competitive and fun.
3) more live music at the DCA Hollywood Land performance areas.
